फिल्म की कहानी:लाली (अनुपम खेर), केडी (अन्नू कपूर) और पिंकी (पीयूष मिश्रा) तीन बुड्ढे आपस में अच्छे दोस्त होते हैं। उम्र से तीनों बुड्ढे होते हैं, लेकिन दिल से एकदम जवान। बाजार, गार्डन हर जगह तीनों अपने से उम्र में काफी छोटी लड़कियों को देखा करते हैं। हालांकि, जब लड़कियां इन तीनों की हरकतों से वाकिफ हो जाती हैं तब ये फैसला करते हैं कि अब दिल्ली को छोड़कर मॉरिशस चले जाते हैं। मॉरिशस में ये तीनों अहाना (लीसा हेडन) के घर पर रेन्ट से रहते हैं। अहाना काफी खुले हुए विचारों की लड़की होती है। उसका सिर्फ एक ही सपना होता है सुपरस्टार अक्षय कुमार (अक्षय कुमार) से मिलना। अहाना लाली, केडी और पिंकी को बताती है कि कोई उसे अक्षय कुमार से मिलवा दे तो वो कुछ भी कर सकती है। बस यहीं से फिल्म में कॉमेडी का तड़का और बढ़ जाता है। फिल्म में आगे क्या होता है इसके लिए आपको सिनेमाघरों का रुख करना होगा।
स्टार्स की एक्टिंग:अक्षय कुमार और लीसा हेडन के साथ इंडस्ट्री के तीन सीनियर्स इस फिल्म में अभिनय करते नजर आ रहे हैं। जहां तक अक्षय की बात है उन्होंने एक बार फिर वो दर्शकों की कसौटी पर खरे उतरते नजर आ रहे हैं, लेकिन लीसा की एक्टिंग काम चलाऊ है। यूं भी कहा जा सकता है कि लीसा को जिस तरह का किरदार दिया गया वो उन पर शूट कर रहा है, यही वजह कि उन्हें एक्टिंग की ज्यादा जरूरत नहीं पड़ी। दूसरी तरफ, अनुपम खेर, अन्नू कपूर और पीयूष मिश्रा ने एक बार फिर दिखा दिया कि वो उम्र में ही नहीं बल्कि एक्टिंग में भी सीनियर हैं।
कैसा है डायरेक्शन:डायरेक्टर अभिषेक शर्मा ने 'शौकीन' (1981) की तर्ज पर 'द शौकीन्स' बनाई है। फिल्म में वैसे तो कोई कहानी नहीं है, लेकिन पर्दे पर उन्होंने तीन रोमांटिक बुड्ढों को खूबसूरती से पेश किया है। हालांकि, फिल्म की रफ्तार कई मौके पर धीमी होती नजर आती है, लेकिन फिल्म के कॉमेडी सीन्स उसकी भरपाई करने में कामयाब दिखते हैं। अभिषेक ने फिल्म में कई अच्छी लोकेशन्स भी दिखाई हैं।
