राजस्थान यूनिवर्सिटी के छात्र संघ चुनाव रद्द होने के विरोध में शुक्रवार को छात्रों ने उग्र प्रदर्शन किए। यूनिवर्सिटी गेट पर प्रदर्शन के दौरान छात्रों ने खुद पर पेट्रोल डालकर आत्महत्या की भी कोशिश की। पुलिस कमिश्नर के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की मांग को लेकर छात्रों का हुड़दंग करीब ढाई घंटे तक जारी रहा।
छात्रों को हटाने के लिए पुलिस को लाठीचार्ज करना पड़ा, जिसमें कुछ छात्रों को चोटें भी आईं। प्रदर्शन में एनएसयूआई और एबीवीपी दोनों ही संगठनों से जुड़े छात्र शामिल हुए। राजस्थान हाईकोर्ट ने गुरुवार को चुनाव में लिंगदोह कमेटी की सिफारिशों के उल्लंघन और पुलिस द्वारा दिए गए शपथपत्र के आधार पर राजस्थान यूनिवर्सिटी का चुनाव रद्द कर दिया था।
